Most of my students have favourite stuffed animals. I figured they would have a wonderful time pretending to BE one of their stuffies! I asked them to let me take a photo (which means that through Zoom, some of the photos are not the BEST quality) and then had them write a "script" of what they would say.
Have a look and listen! You will hear the excitement in their voices!
As part of our reading activities, we have been using "Would You Rather" questions. The kids have enjoyed them so much that I have convinced them to write their own questions! Have a look through the book and send me a message if you would like to add your own WYR question to our collection!
What do all of these students have in common?
They are VERY intelligent!
They are incredibly creative.
They have a wide vocabulary... which they would rather use while speaking instead of writing.
How did they get motivated to do such AWESOME work?
They were inspired by this idea on YouTube.
They had a chance to draw / build / tinker in a Jamboard.
They got to use an audio recording to share some of their ideas instead of, or before, writing them in Book Creator.

This new student loves to draw. Within minutes of asking her to draw a picture to go with her first story, she sent me the wonderful creation you'll find in her new eBook!
This student made INCREDIBLE gains in her reading when we decided to create a "video" book for Kindergarten students. She had shown an interest in snakes, yet wasn't overly motivated to read about them. When I asked her to help me make a video to share with REAL students, she rose to the challenge!
This student is extremely articulate. He loves to talk and has an extensive vocabulary. Getting him to do lots of writing has been a real challenge! Book Creator's professional looking style and ease of use, have made writing a nonfiction book an achievable goal! L. B. has made wonderful progress with his proofreading, use of capitals and punctuation, and accurate encoding of words because he was motivated by his chosen topic!
This student commented to me yesterday that he loves the pictures in the background of his eBook! He's an expert on farms and farming. Stay tuned for a new student book that's all about tractors!
This student has incredible knowledge about a variety of topics. He can teach us all SO many interesting facts about what companies do when they want to demolish a building to make room for something new! Have a look! Click to read this Book Creator eBook.
This student has her own dog walking business! When I found out about how skilled she is at training dogs, I suggested that she create a book so others could learn from her. She was highly motivated to share her tips about something she loves so much! Click to read her Book Creator eBook!
This student wrote a Thank You letter to his teacher. He was very motivated to do that because he had a great year with her!
